Maryam Alakbarli

Maryam Alakbarli was born in 1991 in Baku, Azerbaijan with Down’s Syndrome. She is non verbal but is able to understand several languages and to paint. She has studied art through the Arts Deco, Grand Chaumiere and the Beaux-Arts of Paris. Combining her intuition with her learned skills, she is able to perceive the environment in an extraordinary way and invites the viewers to see the world through her eyes. Since 2010 Maryam’s works have been presented in 33 shows in 13 countries including France, the United States, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Turkey and Japan. Her works have been acquired by both private collectors and museums.
